What are the wiring requirements for DALI systems?
① DALI system wiring is simple and polarity-insensitive. The DALI bus uses standard cable (D4i drivers require correct polarity);
② The protocol requires a maximum voltage drop of 2V between any two devices on the bus;
③ The maximum current on the bus must not exceed 250mA;
④ The maximum distance between two communication units must not exceed 300m. If exceeding 300m, a DALI repeater can be added to extend the communication distance. 1.5mm² copper wire is recommended.
⑤ The figure below shows the maximum allowable distances for cables of different cross-sectional areas and materials at 25°C.
