How to choose non-isolated LED driver and isolated LED driver?

 

If we want to know the differences between them, we are supposed to have a rough understanding on their circuits.

 

In the circuit design of isolated LED driver, the high voltage of LED driver is relatively reduced by the transformer first, and then the LED driver is rectified to output with direct current. And the whole process is the transformation of “electricity-magnetism-electricity”.

In the circuit design of non-isolated LED driver, the high voltage of LED driver is reduced by inductor, etc. first, and then the LED driver is rectified to output with direct current. And the whole process is the transformation of “electricity-electricity”.
