Take the model number LF-GDE042YF1000U for an example, LIFUD model number starts with “LF-“, it indicate LIFUD brand.  And the third letter means isolated of non-isolated design, “G” indicates isolated design, and “F” indicates non-isolated design, most of LIFUD LED drivers are of isolated design.

All dimmable LED drivers are started with “LF-GDExxx” while DALI LED drivers all have a (S) in the middle part of the model number. For example, the LF-GDE042YF1000U is a 0-10V, PWM and resistor dimmable LED drivers and the LF-GDE042YF(S)1000U is a DALI LED driver.  And the “042” means this driver’s max output power can be 42W, “1000” means the output current of this driver is 1000mA.  The last letter “U” means this driver has universal AC input voltage range AC100-277V, and the LED drivers of rated input voltage AC220-240V is ended with H (e.g. LF-GIR040YI1000H).

And all LED drivers of metal case are started with “LF-GM”, here M indicates metal material, like the UL panel light driver LF-GMD055YB1200U.  For more details about LIFUD naming rule, you may refer to page 9 of LIFUD brochure.

LIFUD UL file number is E338140, customers can click the link UL Database and input LIFUD UL file number to confirm the certification of the relevant model number.  And all UL certification does not have a certificate, there is only a notification sent from UL lab when a driver finishes the certification.
Most Lifud LED drivers are regarded as a part instead of finished product.  However, we treat LIFUD’ s third generation UL panel light drivers LF-GMRxxxYB and LF-GMDxxxYB series as finished products.  Thus both series pass both the TL UL certification (driver as a part) and class P UL certification (driver as a finished product) , and both marks can be available depending on customers’ specific requirement.
Non-isolated refers that output terminal and the input terminal are directly electrical connected. The lack of transformer isolation in non-isolated circuitry, means that the LEDs are more susceptible to damage by surge coming from the AC mains as a result of load switching transients or disturbance on primary side.
